INDEPENDENT SAFETY ASSESSMENT

The Quality and Certification Centre as a type A inspection body, accredited by PCA No. AK 029 in accordance with the requirements of standard 17020: 2012 in the area of ​​conducting adequacy inspections of the common safety risk assessment methodology and risk assessment, provides inspection activity on behalf of the  Railway Research Institute in the performance of independent safety assessments.


The  Quality and Certification Centre, recognized as a European Assessment Unit (AsBo), issues reports, necessary for placing in service, on safety assessment in accordance with the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 402/2013 of 30 April 2013 on the common safety method for risk evaluation and assessment and repealing Regulation (EC) No 352/2009 with further amendments in the area of

  • structural subsystems: INFRASTRUCTURE, ENERGY, ROLLING STOCK, CONTROL-COMMAND and SIGNALLING On-board subsystem and Track-side subsystem;
  • functional subsystems: OPERATION AND TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT, and MAINTENANCE.

While maintaining independence, impartiality and objectivity, w offer the implementation of evaluation processes at the highest level conducted by the  Railway Research Institute’s employees who have experience in the railway industry gained over the years, experience in the processes of implementing innovative solutions and defining safety requirements and selection and acceptance of safety measures.
