UNIT FOR COORDINATION OF PROJECTS AND INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION
The main task of the Unit is to coordinate the Railway Research Institute’s activities to prepare and conduct formal procedures aiming at subsidizing, performing and financing of research and development projects in the rail transport area, particularly interdisciplinary projects that require the engagement of specialists from the Institute’s various cells, centres, departments and laboratories. In this respect, the Unit for Coordination of Projects and International Cooperation deals with:
- initiating and supporting of the organization of consortiums applying for project requests for research and development projects;
- acquiring financing for proposed research and development projects;
- acquiring financing for proposed research and development projects;
- supporting teams that carry out research and development projects in which the Institute’s participates to facilitate formal activities and financial clearing.
The Unit also coordinates the Railway Research Institute’s activities conducted in cooperation with other scientific and research institutions and organizations operating in rail transport, in particular in international relations and European Research Area. The Unit offers information and consultations in this field for all entities concerned.
Another specific task of the Unit is to coordinate interdisciplinary expertise and experts’ opinions relating to railway accidents, which are requested by courts or bodies undertaking preparatory proceedings.
