SCIENTIFIC, TECHNICAL AND STANDARDISATION INFORMATION CENTRE

The main activity of the Institute is publicity. The magazines issued by the Institute:

• Problemy Kolejnictwa – Railway Problems (scientific magazine);
• Prace Instytutu Kolejnictwa – Works of the Railway Research Institute (presenting the most important publications of the Institute);
• Informacja Ekspresowa – Express Information (bibliographic publication);
• as well as Komunikat Normalizacyjny – Standardisation Information (presenting standardization activity)

help in improving the knowledge on railway transport and especially on railway technology.

Since 2009 the Institute also issues monographs and academic documents published by the Institute experts.

The Center has also its own library, which includes:

• manuals, guide books, encyclopedias, dictionaries and others, as well as professional railway magazines (in some cases as the only library in Poland);
• law-making publications - Dziennik Ustaw, Monitor Polski - journals of laws;
• specific issues: works prepared by the Institute, ERRI;
• Polish railway standards: PN-EN, PN, BN, ZN/PKP and UIC fiches.

The reading room allows also for Access to the PERINORM data base (monthly updated) including bibliographic data on international, European and national standards.
